Weekly Band Announcements: 10/24/21

 

Thought for the week: THANK YOU to everyone who helped made our Senior Night a success! Senior Night is always an exciting and emotional time. We watched 13 seniors performed at their last home football for the last time. Many practices, trips, and performances all come to an end but the memories will last a lifetime. Maybe something Mr. Dooley and I taught you on this journey will help you in life. Best wishes in all your future endeavors and may the Wolverine Band pride forever reside in your hearts.

 

Goons and Goblins: Thank you Band Booster for participating in Goblins and Goodies In The Park Event. Thank you student for giving up your weekend participate in an awesome event.

 

After School Rehearsal: Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, and Percussion Ensemble

Monday: Wind Ensemble Rehearsal 4pm – 5:30pm

Tuesday:  A Fall Concert at 6:30pm

Thursday: Marching Band Rehearsal 5pm – 8pm

Friday: Football Game LHS vs McGavock H.S.

Away Football Game.  We will have our next away game against McGavock High School on Friday, October 29, 2021.

Dress for McGavock H.S Game will wear blue jeans, blue band shirt, tennis shoes. No facial piercings at all performances.

Band Dues: All 2021Marching Band dues are past due. If you owe payments, please make your payment as soon as possible. Students owing funds will not be permitted to attend away events, band trips, etc. Please check your charms account for balance dues. Email Mr. Callahan if you forgot your password, never received a password, etc., for your Charms login information.

**Sectional Jobs:

  • **Sectional Jobs:

  •   Low Brass and Contras: Trash Crew (Bring trash can out to field, empty ALL trashcans after rehearsal and replace garbage bags)

  • Trumpets and Horns Field Crew (help drum majors set up and tear down practice field)

  • Battery Pit Crew (Help Front Ensemble move equipment to and from the field. ALWAYS TOUCH BASE JUSTIN FIRST!)

  • Saxophones and Low Reeds Room Crew (Stack all chairs and stands in band room then sweep and vacuum.

  • Color Guard Double Check Crew: (Make sure all personal items are removed from rehearsal spaces. Check storage rooms and remove items that do not belong.

  • Flutes and Clarinets: Water Crew (Two coolers with ice, one with water and one with Gatorade. Bring outside with cups)

Parents, Guardians, Friends and Volunteers we need your help!

We need the help of all parents and guardians to ensure the continued growth and development of the Wolverine Band Program. Where would we be without devoted individuals who serve as the motivators, helpers, and the rehearsal monitors of their children? Volunteer parental support and participation is crucial to the success of our band program.

​Please consider helping us for our Away Football Game and our Final Competition performance this week. We need help on Friday and Saturday

Ways of Communication

We communicate to parents and students through several avenues.  One doesn’t have to have access to all of the avenues to get the information.  

CHARMS - Our main way of communication is through sending out emails through CHARMS.

Band App - A quick and easy way for parents or students to communicate is to send a text directly to a director.
