Weekly Band Announcements 5-22-2022

We had a successful May Mini Band Camp this week. The students can play all three movements at tempo, stationary commands and fundamental marching. We are looking forward to having a successful marching band season this Fall. It’s not too late to join the Wolverine Marching Band. Please contact Mr. Callahan for more information.

Mr. Callahan will be doing inventorying this week. Please return all instruments, mouthpieces or music books this week.

To the seniors. This will be the last weekly announcement that you will receive as members of the LHS Band. You are now ALUMNI! It is our hope that you continue to love music and keep it an important part of your life. Thank you for your dedication and service to the Wolverine Band this year and making memories of a lifetime.  We also hope you continue to support and advocate for the LHS Band and Music Education. Thank you all for what you have done to help the band move forward and if you need anything don't hesitate to ask! Remember to keep your heart sincere and your pathway straight.

LaVergne High School 2022 Final Exam Schedule

LaVergne High School will conclude final exam this Tuesday. Students are allowed to leave school after final exam with a parent’s permission:

Monday: 5th and 6th Period

Tuesday: 7th Period

Wednesday: Make-up Final Exam.

Thursday: 2-hour day and report card pick up

Friday: No School

Band Camp & Rehearsal Schedule

 

Summer Band Camp Dates (Mandatory)

  • July 14th - 15th Leadership and New Marchers Pre-Camp

 All New Marchers are required to attend a two-day camp from 12noon-4:00pm. New marchers will learn the marching style and meet the leaders of the band. We will learn the entire show during this week. Please do not schedule any other appointments during this week. Students must stay on campus the entire day:

  • July 14th: New Marchers Band Parent Meeting 5:00pm.

 

  • July 18th – 29th Band Camp (Full Band)

All marching band members will be required to attend two week-long camp from 1:00pm-9:00pm.

  • July 29th: 9:00am - 1:00pm.

  • Saturday, July 30th, Wolverine Marching Band Friends and Family Picnic Performance (Full Band)

 All band members will be required to attend the full band camp from 2:00pm-8:00pm. Friends and Family Picnic Performance will start at 7:00pm.

 

  • August 1st – 5th Post - Band Camp (Full Band)

All band members will be required to attend the post band camp from 4:00pm-8:00pm.

Regular Rehearsal Schedule (Mandatory, Begins Tuesday August 9th) 

  • Tuesdays 4:30pm to 6:30pm

  • Thursdays 5:00pm to 8:00pm  

Ways of Communication

We communicate to parents and students through several avenues.  One doesn’t have to have access to all of the avenues to get the information.  

CHARMS - Our main way of communication is through sending out emails through CHARMS.

Band App - A quick and easy way for parents or students to communicate is to send a text directly to a director.
