 Wolverine Marching Band Summer Checklist

We are excited for another great year with LaVergne Wolverine Marching Band! Below is a checklist to get you started for the new season. Please watch your email, and band app for news throughout the summer from us.


FORM ARE DUE TO MR. CALLAHAN BY JULY 14. You must have a physical form dated on or after June 1, Marching Band Contract, and Consent Form turned in by the first day of band camp. Mr. Callahan will be collecting these forms.


The Marching Band Annual Dues is due by September 1. You will be able to pay by check, cash, or fundraising credit. This fee helps cover some of the administrative and operational costs of the Wolverine Marching Band and also covers each family’s membership in the organization. The fee for 2021-2021 is $300.


Everything is subject to change at any time. The calendar and attendance policy will be available online and will also be emailed and uploaded to Charms by mid-July. Call times for individual performances will be emailed on a weekly basis. Pay close attention to calendar (on the band app) events and call times as they may differ based on which section of the band you are in (Winds, Percussion or Guard). Please review the attendance policy and direct any questions to Mr. Callahan.


All students will be fitted with their uniforms before or during band camp. Uniform accessories (blue wolverine band t-shirts, black crew socks, black shorts, black dinkles marching band shoes).  We will be scheduling appointments and following all school district guidelines during fittings. 


We need your help! The following explains what is needed in a typical season.

There are many opportunities to volunteer throughout the season. Some opportunities are below. We need your help to make sure the students have a fun, safe, and successful season.

  • Chaperones/Truck Drivers​ –We normally have at least ten chaperones attend each game with the band. It is easy, fun, and you get in free. We need two truck drivers and two assistants for each away event as well. 

  • Pit Crew ​– We have a large front ensemble performing on the field. Parents are needed to help at halftime with moving their instruments on and off the field. You do not have to chaperone the entire game in order to be a Pit Crew member. You will come to the field a few minutes before half time and be assigned to an instrument. Pull the instruments onto the field, watch the show, pull them off the field and return to the stands for the rest of the game.

  • Banquet ​– We are in need of a committee to plan our annual banquet in April.

  • Photographers​ – If you like to take photos, please do so at all of our performances. We can also use photos taken during band camp. Photos will be used to create our annual slide show for the banquet.

Summer Band Camp Dates (Mandatory)

  • July 21st - 23rd Leadership and New Marchers Pre-Camp

      All New Marchers are required to attend a three-day camp from 12noon-4:00pm. New marchers will learn the marching style and meet the leaders of the band.

  • July 22nd: New Marchers Band Parent Meeting 5:00pm.


  • July 26th – 29th Band Camp (Full Band)

      All marching band members will be required to attend a week-long camp from 1:00pm-9:00pm.

  • July 30th: 1:00pm - 5:00pm.

  • August 2nd – 6th Band Camp (Full Band)

All band members will be required to attend the full band camp from 4:00pm-9:00pm. We will learn the entire show during this week. Please do not schedule any other appointments during this week. Students must stay on campus the entire day.


  • August 6th Wolverine Marching Band Friends and Family Picnic Performance (Full Band)

 All band members will be required to attend the full band camp from 4:00pm-9:00pm. Friends and Family Picnic Performance will start at 7:00pm.


Regular Rehearsal Schedule (Mandatory, Begins Tuesday August 10th) 

  • Tuesdays 4:30pm to 6:30pm

  • Thursday 5:00pm to 8:00pm
