Logan Harr

BIO

Logan Harr is a composer, educator, and musician currently serving as the Assistant Director of Bands at LaVergne High School. He holds a Bachelor of Music from East Tennessee State University (ETSU) and is pursuing a Master of Arts in Teaching.

 

Logan has worked with high school and middle school band programs across Tennessee and Southwest Virginia, providing instruction in concert band, indoor percussion, marching band, percussion ensemble, and solo repertoire. He has arranged drumline and front ensemble music for several programs and served as a shadow tech with Civitas Independent Percussion.

 

Logan has performed with the ETSU Percussion Ensemble at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention, including when the ensemble won the Concert Chamber Ensemble Competition and performed the New Percussion Literature Showcase Concert. He also marched with Music City Drum Corps and performed in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade with the ETSU Marching Bucs, where he wrote drumline parts for one of the parade tunes. He appears on the album Songs from the Hills: The Music of Jack Stamp, recorded by the ETSU Wind Ensemble.

 

An active composer, Logan received first place in the Kenton Coe Composition Contest for an original percussion ensemble piece, which, along with a following work, was premiered by the ETSU Percussion Ensemble. He also premiered a piece at the Nief-Norf Summer Festival.
